The Fatha (فَتْحَة) is the most common vowel in the Quran.
It is a tiny dash above the letter — and it opens the mouth. فَتْحَة comes from the Arabic word فَتَح — meaning: to open. 🔓

Any letter + فَتْحَة = that letter + the "a" sound
