🌟 Did You Know?
If the Fatha opens the mouth — the Kasra drops the jaw.
الكَسْرَة comes from the Arabic word كَسَرَ — meaning: to break.
The letter "breaks" downward — and so does your jaw when you say "i".
It is written as a small dash below the letter. ↓
بِ
Kasra — كَسْرَة
A small dash below the letter = short "i" sound
بِ = "bi" · تِ = "ti" · ثِ = "thi"
🔄 Compare — same letter, different mark, different sound:
بَ
ba
Fatha above = "a"
↔

Kasra below = "i"
