⚠ Key Concept — Emphatic Letters
ص ض ط ظ are called the emphatic (or pharyngealised) letters. They come in two pairs by shape:Pair 1: ص (no dot) and ض (one dot above) — oval/loop shape.
Pair 2: ط (no dot) and ظ (one dot above) — tall upright shape.
Within each pair, the dot is the only difference — just like the pattern you already know!
