Lesson 1: Two-Letter Words

Unit 4 · Lesson 1 · Two-Letter Words — Imam Quran Academy
Did You Know?

Some of the Quran's most powerful words are just two letters long

Arabic is famous for doing more with less. Words like فِي (in), مِن (from), and هُو (He) appear hundreds — even thousands — of times in the Quran. They are the glue that holds every sentence together.

Once you recognize these tiny words on sight, your Quranic reading will feel dramatically smoother. You will stop at fewer words and begin to feel the flow of the Arabic — not just decode letters.

فِي appears ~1,700× in the Quran
مِن min appears ~1,400× in the Quran
لَا appears ~1,000× in the Quran
هُو used for Allah in Al-Ikhlas
