Lesson 4: Sukoon — No Vowel (بْ تْ ثْ)

🌟
Did You Know?
Fatha, Kasra, and Damma all add a vowel sound to a letter.

But what if a letter has no vowel at all?
That is where Sukoon comes in.

السُّكُون comes from سَكَنَ — meaning: to be still · to be silent.
The letter stops — and waits for the next letter to carry the sound. 🤫
أبْ
Sukoon — سُكُون
A small circle above the letter = no vowel — the letter is silent
أبْ = "ab"  ·  أتْ = "at"  ·  أثْ = "ath"
🔄 With vowel vs without — hear the difference:
أبَ
a · ba
With Fatha = full sound
أبْ
ab
With Sukoon = stops here

The Sukoon Rule
A letter with Sukoon has no sound of its own — it clings to the letter before it.

ab · at · ath · aj · ah · akh
